Scarfes Bar
Stepping through the revolving doors off High Holborn, you're transported into a chic oasis that feels worlds away from London's bustling streets. With its plush velvet chairs and walls adorned with Gerald Scarfe's whimsical caricatures, this bar doubles as an art gallery. The ambiance is reminiscent of a classic English gentlemen’s club, yet with a lively twist thanks to vibrant live jazz sessions that set the mood most nights.
The cocktail menu is an inventive journey through Scarfe’s subconscious, offering unique blends that challenge and delight the palate. From the whisky-infused Knock on Wood to the intriguing Toothless Grin with cognac and goat's cheese, each drink is a masterpiece. The spirit selection is impressive, particularly for whisky lovers, and there's always a playful twist on classic cocktails to explore. While the bar doesn't focus heavily on food, there are select bites to complement the drinks, and the non-alcoholic options are crafted with the same creativity, ensuring everyone finds something to savor.
