No one is perfect. I recognise that some bars will automatically do better in my eyes, but here are some of the things that I know will sway me:
- • Cool, stylish, premium, dark, cosy vibes. My favourite bar will never be Tiki-themed, grungy, or cartoony-cute.
- • I lean towards short, sweeter, or bitersweet drinks, and away from long and fruity. Riffs on Sazeracs will impress me more than vodka with fruit juices.
- • Novelty, but not just for the sake of novelty. I've been to a lot of bars, so I want to experience something new and different. Especially when it comes to what's in my glass.
- • Perceived value is important. I'll pay a lot for an amazing experience, but if the price doesn't match the quality, or the vibe, it's jarring. Complimentary snacks, offers of a taste of an unusual liqueur I'm asking about, a free water without asking, are all amazing ways to add value.
- • Good service. Attentive staff, fast service, good reccomendations when asked for, but never pushed on you. Friendly, smiley, welcoming, interested, interesting, and helpful!
